Who do I see?

The Fastest way to get help from a clinician is by submitting an online Patient Triage Form. You can use this form to contact us with any medical or admin requests. If you are unable to do this, then our reception team will be able to complete the form on your behalf before it is looked at by our triage clinician, the reception team can also send a link to our online form. For Prescription requests please submit an online Patient Triage Form.

If you need more urgent help, call your GP. If your GP practice is closed, visit NHS 111 online or call 111. In an emergency call 999.

In order to ensure that patient safety is our priority we must limit the number of on the day appointments. however, the practice will strive to offer an alterative.

In the event that all on- the day appointment are fully booked, we are committing to providing alternative options. You may be offered an appointment with a community pharmacist  be offered an appointment at our extended access sited, NHS 111 or directed to A&E if deemed appropriate.

Appointment type

on the day appointments will be offered as a telephone consultation first, if the clinician feels that you need to be seen they will arrange for an appropriate time slot.

for routine appointments you will be offered either a telephone consultation or a face to face dependent on your preference.

there maybe times when the clinician may ask for a video call or for photos of your clinical complaint to help guide the consultation.

Enhanced Access

We offer enhanced access  from 18.30- 20.00 on Thursday evenings each week.  Alongside Monday – Thursday appointments at 7.30am- 8.00am. we also offer a range of appointments on a pro- rata basis on Fridays & Saturdays. These services are delivered in collaboration with other practices within the practice’s Primary care network (PCN).  Salutem PCN consists of East Leicester Medical Practice, Humberstone Medical Practice, Johnson Medical Practice, Downing Drive Surgery and St Elizabeth medical practice.

Cancelling an Appointment

If you are unable to keep an appointment, please let us know as soon as possible, this may enable someone else to be seen.

You can cancel your appointment in any of the following ways:

  • Via SystmOnline.
  • By calling the practice on 0116 3666 44 6

Home Visits

If you require a home visit please telephone the surgery on 0116 3666 446 before 10:00 if possible. We do not accept visit requests by email. The doctor will visit patients at home who are truly housebound or when the illness makes travelling impossible.
