All our patient advisors are trained to be able to provide you with the most appropriate advise to in order to manage your condition, therefore when you call they will ask you are few questions so you are booked with the most appropriate clinician/ service. GP Appointments are 10 minutes slots, if you require more time, please speak to our team of patient advisors.
in order to ensure that patient safety is our priority we must limit the number of on the day appointments. however, the practice will strive to offer an alterative.
In the event that all on- the day appointment are fully booked, we are committing to providing alternative options. You may be offered an appointment with a community pharmacist be offered an appointment at our extended access sited, NHS 111 or directed to A&E if deemed appropriate.
on the day appointments will be offered as a telephone consultation first, if the clinician feels that you need to be seen they will arrange for an appropriate time slot.
for routine appointments you will be offered either a telephone consultation or a face to face dependent on your preference.
there maybe times when the clinician may ask for a video call or for photos of your clinical complaint to help guide the consultation.
We offer enhanced access from 18.30- 20.00 on Thursday evenings each week. Alongside Monday – Thursday appointments at 7.30am- 8.00am. we also offer a range of appointments on a pro- rata basis on Fridays & Saturdays. These services are delivered in collaboration with other practices within the practice’s Primary care network (PCN). Salutem PCN consists of East Leicester Medical Practice, Humberstone Medical Practice, Johnson Medical Practice, Downing Drive Surgery and St Elizabeth medical practice.

If you require a home visit please telephone the surgery on 0116 3666 446 before 10:00 if possible. We do not accept visit requests by email. The doctor will visit patients at home who are truly housebound or when the illness makes travelling impossible.
